Mr. Randy George Smith, 54, of Greencastle, died suddenly Monday, October 1, 2012, in Greencastle.
Born July 12, 1958, at the Waynesboro Hospital, he was a son of the late George Wesley and Helen Pauline Monn Smith. He attended Waynesboro High School.
Randy was a truck driver by trade; and a member of Adams County Fish and Game Club, Landis - McLeaf United States Marine Corp League, Detachment #295, Chambersburg; Forty and Eight Club, Marion; William Max McLaughlin Veteran of Foreign War, Post 695, and the Owls Club, both of Waynesboro; and the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion, Post 373, Greencastle.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his siblings, Vaughn E. Smith of Fayettville, Deborah Kay Wolff and Lindsy A. Smith, both of Greencastle, Cathy S. Barrick of Chambersburg, Greg W. Smith and Patty A. Littrell, both of Waynesboro, and Teresa L. Conrad of South Carolina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Randy was preceded in death a brother, Gary L. Smith.
The Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling the arrangements. The family will not receive friends at the funeral home. Family and friends will gather at the William Max McLaughlin Veterans of Foreign War, Post 695, 346 West Main Street, Waynesboro, on Wednesday evening, October 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
