Phyllis J. (Stumbaugh) Snider

Phyllis J. (Stumbaugh) Snider, age 81 of Williamson, PA died at her home on Sunday afternoon March 21, 2021.

Born May 6, 1939 in Antrim Twp., Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph M. and Mildred C. (Martin) Stumbaugh. She married her husband William “Mr. Bill” K. Snider on June 17, 1956 in the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Williamson.

She assisted her husband in the management and operations of the Snider’s Elevator in Williamson and in Lemasters. She also was a hard working homemaker and welcomed everyone into her home and was a gracious hostess to all. She was an active member of the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Williamson. Phyllis was a volunteer worker for the Williamson Ruritan Club, she loved to travel and was a gracious, warm-hearted and loving  person.

Surviving family in addition to her husband are one daughter,  Susan Snider of St. Thomas, PA; one son, Paul (Jackie) Snider of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Jennifer and James; three sisters, Janet Wingert and Ethel West, both of Chambersburg, Nancy Leidig of Greencastle; three brothers, Roger Stumbaugh and John “Fred” Stumbaugh, both of Chambersburg, Douglas Stumbaugh of Greencastle and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother Ralph Stumbaugh Jr. and a sister Doris Hess.

A private viewing and funeral service will be held at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home in Greencastle with the Rev. Alan Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. A public memorial service will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Tuscarora Wildlife Education Project (TWEP) P.O. Box 97 Mercersburg, PA 17236.
