Peter F. Gacki, age 89 of Wesley Dr. Quincy Village, Quincy, PA died unexpectedly at 9:35 A.M. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in his home.

Born April 2, 1924 in New York City, he was the son of the late Stanley S. and Joan (Rubin) Gacki. Peter married Ruth Ann (Lindenfelser) Gacki on April 18, 1959.
Peter was employed by IBM in Hagerstown, MD for 30 years retiring in 1986.

He was a member of the St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church of Greencastle. Peter was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Chambersburg and member of the Knights of the Immaculate. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He graduated from De Witt Clinton High School in New York City and from the RCA Institute in New York. He attended the Greencastle Senior Center and volunteered with the Meals On Wheels program. He also enjoyed woodworking, having made a number of pieces of furniture and baking bread.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are one son Thomas P. Gacki and wife Brenda of Harrisburg, PA, one daughter Margaret M. Gacki of Cumberland, MD, two grandchildren Grace E. Gacki and Zachary M. Gacki, both of Harrisburg, PA

He was preceded in death by a son Michael F. Gacki in 1987 and one sister.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday June 14 at 2:00 P.M. from the St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church 385 S. Ridge Ave. Greencastle with Rev. Joseph L. Stahura, celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Andrew Catholic Church Cemetery in Waynesboro. There will be a visitation at the church one hour before the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to Catholic Charities 1501 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101 or to the charity of one''s choice. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com.
