Perry Lynn Barnhart

Perry Lynn Barnhart, age 60, of Waynesboro, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 30, 2024, in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born on Sunday, March 8, 1964, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Robert F. Barnhart Sr., and Rhoda L. (Burcker) Barnhart.

Perry was a 1982 graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim High School. His early career was in culinary; however, he spent the last 24 years employed as a school custodian in the Greencastle-Antrim School district.

Perry liked to cook, bake, and craft in his spare time. He also enjoyed going on adventures with his family and friends. Perry was the life of the party. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He joked around and liked to laugh. He lived every day to the fullest. No matter the situation Perry always tried to make the best of it, always “making memories”.

Surviving family is his sister, Nancy L. Burkett of Waynesboro, PA; three brothers, Robert F. Barnhart, Jr. (wife Mindy Carson) of Waynesboro, PA, Roger L. Barnhart (wife Sharon) of Quincy, PA, and Lennis E. Barnhart (wife Ruth) of Waynesboro, PA; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna K. Barnhart of Greencastle, PA.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA where Rev. Dr. Eric Scott Winnette will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
