Peggy Ann Hoch, age 77, a resident of the Quincy Village Nursing Center of Quincy, PA and formerly of Greencastle and Mercersburg died at 3:43 AM Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in the nursing center. She had been in declining health since the beginning of February.

Born September 4, 1938 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Seth Walter Sr. and Esther Rebecca (Kump) Hoch.
Peggy was a member of the Mercersburg First United Methodist Church for 42 years and was active in the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Greencastle-Antrim Women’s Fellowship and the Greencastle-Antrim Loyal Daughters. In her younger years, Peggy would clean homes for families. She attended Mercersburg Schools.

Surviving family are one sister Mildred J. Niswander, of Quincy Village and  with whom Peggy made her home with for approximately 36 years in Greencastle and then at Quincy Village for the past year and two months. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers Edward L. Hoch Sr. Kenneth Hoch, Seth W. “Pete” Hoch Jr., John David Hoch, William Charles Hoch and two sisters, Edna Louise Jones and Helen E. Hoch.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 19 at 10:00 AM from the Mercersburg First United Methodist Church 11 N. Fayette St. Mercersburg with Rev. Michael Baughman and Chaplain Justin Isbister officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery Mercersburg. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 -8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to United Methodist Women of the Mercersburg First United Methodist Church 11 N. Fayette St. Mercersburg, PA 17236.
