Peggy L. Branch

Peggy L. Branch, 92, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday morning, November 9, 2023, at her home. Born August 23, 1931 in Hagerstown, MD, she was a daughter of the late James and Vinnie Showe Gossard.

Peggy was employed as a seamstress most of her life with Dorby’s and Legalon in Hagerstown, MD and most recently at Admiral Cleaner’s in Westminster, MD. Early in her life she worked as a hostess at Tortuga’s Restaurant in Hagerstown. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, doing crosswords, bowling and going to the casino.

She is survived by five children, Don Branch, Jr. (Sandy) of State Line, Deanna Burkett of Greencastle, Debbie Bonbrake (Allen) of Greencastle, Alan Branch (Kathy) of Hagerstown, MD, and Justine Branch (Greg Julian) of OH; ten grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and one brother, James Gossard, Jr. of Hagerstown. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Stottelmyer; son-in-law, Dennis Burkett, Sr.; and very close friend, Kenneth Magin.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, PA.
