Paul J. Stouffer Jr.
Paul J. Stouffer Jr., age 86 of Willowdale Rd. Greencastle, PA died at 10:20 PM, Monday February 27, 2017 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born January 13, 1931 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Evelyn Florence (Zeger) Stouffer. He married his wife Phyllis June (Statler) Stouffer on October 25, 1952.
Paul was a dairy farmer for 25 years and was a seed salesman for 44years for various seed companies having last been employed by Seedway Seeds of Mifflinburg, PA. He also drove a truck for H.J. Tanner and Ryder Supply Co and worked as a carpenter for Donald Wenger Construction Co.
Paul was a member of the Ebenezer “Guitners” United Brethren Church of Greencastle, member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association, member of the Rescue Hose Co. # 1 of Greencastle and a 17 year member of the Glad-a-bout Square Dance Club.
Surviving family in addition to his wife of 64 years are daughter, Diana F. Stouffer of Frederick, MD, son Rev. Christy R. Stouffer and wife Rose of Chambersburg, PA, daughter Kathy M. Wardrick of Frederick, MD, 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother John Stouffer and an infant sister Mary Louise Stouffer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 4 at 11:00 AM at the Ebenezer “Guitners” United Brethren Church 3661 Williamson Rd. Greencastle with Terry Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and at the church one hour before the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Heart Association 610 Community Way Lancaster, PA 17603.
