Paul M. Hykes, age 90 of 2900 Brockton Dr. Kingsville, Md. and formerly of Greencastle, Pa. and Fayetteville, Pa. died Friday evening October 19, 2007 in the home of his daughter in Kingsville, Md.
Born October 28, 1916 in Antrim Twp. Franklin Co. Pa., he was the son of the late Samuel and Freda (Knauff) Hykes.
In his early life he farmed and then he worked at Corning Glass of Greencastle for 19 years retiring in 1979.
He was a member of the Grace United Church Of Christ of Greencastle where he sang on the church choir.
Mr. Hykes was a former member of the Greene Twp. Lions Club. Mr. Hykes was a 1933 graduate of Greencastle High School.
His first wife, Janet L. (Smith) Hykes died on August 2, 1987 . He and his second wife, Catherine U. (Rotz) Hykes were married on February 17, 1988. She died on May 24, 2001.
Surviving family are:
One daughter, Rebekah J. (Wife Of Jerry) Bartos, of Kingsville, Md.
One grandson Christopher Bartos, Kingsville, Md.
Step-Children - Gregory Rawlings of Chambersburg, Pa. and Byron Rawlings of Fayetteville, Pa.
Several step-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Michaels.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, Pa. with Pastor James E. Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery St. Thomas, Pa. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from from 6 - 8 P.M.
