Paul E. Duffey Sr.
Paul E. Duffey Sr., age 91 of 66 Mt. Vernon Terrace Waynesboro, PA and formerly of 13268 Ridge Rd. Greencastle, PA died at 4:45 A.M. Wednesday October 10, 2012 in his home. He had been in declining health for the past year.
Born December 24, 1920 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Lewis H. and Edith (Rice) Duffey. He married Emma Mae (Bingaman) Duffey on March 28, 1942 in Hagerstown.
Paul owned the former Duffey''s Body Shop in Greencastle. He then worked locally in the auto body repair business for many years and was last employed by Alphin Aircraft of Hagerstown for 9 years in aircraft repair. He had also worked as the service manager at the former Fox Buick of Greencastle.
He was a member of the Calvary Assembly Of God Church of Waynesboro where he had served on the church board. He was also a former member of the Senior Mens Group of Greencastle. Paul''s hobbies included painting and refinishing old cars, fishing, going to the beach and spending time with his family.
Paul was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the European Theatre.
Surviving family in addition to his wife of 70 years are one son Paul E. (wife Norma) Duffey Jr., Waxhaw, NC, two daughters Judy M. (husband Dean) Blubaugh and Peggy L. (husband Bill) Jones, all of Waynesboro, PA, one sister Elsie Spangler, Hagerstown, MD, one brother Harold Duffey Sr., Greencastle, PA, four grandsons Ben Jones, Jamie Jones, Tim Duffey, Joel Duffey, eight great-grandsons Justin Duffey, Joshua Duffey, Jake Duffey, Jaden Duffey, Micah Jones, Silas Jones, Elijah Jones, Parker Duffey, two great-granddaughters, Olivia Duffey, Morgan Duffey, three step- grandchildren, Colleen Shatzer, Maureen Laurousi, Bill Blubaugh, two step-great-grandchildren Quincy Blubaugh and Elliot Blubaugh
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Beulah Patterson and a brother James Duffey.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 15 at 11:00 A.M. from the Calvary Assembly Of God Church 116 Snider Ave. Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Dwan N. Newsome officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may given in his memory to Wycliffe Bible Translators P.O.
