Patsy (Bingaman) Peiffer

Patsy “Pat” Bingaman Peiffer, 87, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 31, 2023 at Providence Place in Chambersburg.  Born December 4, 1935 in Greencastle, she was a daughter of the late John and Pauline Starliper Bingaman.  Pat was a graduate of the Greencastle Antrim High School and was employed as a secretary at Contech for 27 years, retiring in 1997.  She was a member of Ebenezer United Brethren Church where she had taught Sunday School and Bible School and was active with the Christmas program.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.  Her husband, John A. Peiffer, whom she married July 2, 1955, preceded her in death on September 15, 2015.

She is survived by her daughters, Pam Dice and husband Norman of Chambersburg and Laurie Peiffer and husband David Romanoski of Hummelstown; five grandchildren, Matthew Dice and wife Emily, Andrew Dice and wife Callihan, Kristina Weaver and husband Trey, Cole Romanoski, and Luke Romanoski; six great-grandchildren, Easton Dice, Ella Dice, Mattie Dice, Alivia Weaver, Violette Weaver, and Clayton Weaver; and her brother, Lloyd Bingaman (Linda) of Greencastle.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Edwin Bingman.

A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Ebenezer United Brethren Church, 3661 Williamson Road, Greencastle, PA.  Pastor David Grove will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the church.

The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests contributions in her memory be made to the Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library, payable to the Franklin County Library System and mailed to 101 Ragged Edge Road South, Chambersburg, PA  17201.
