O. Madeline (Crider) Kuhn

O. Madeline Kuhn age 96 of Marion, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Michaux Manor Nursing Home in Fayetteville, PA. Born February 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Lucille Hendershot Crider.

Mrs. Kuhn was a 1944 graduate of the former St. Thomas High School. She went on to work at the former Corning Glass Company in Greencastle, PA, for 35 years. She was a member of Solomon’s U.C.C. in Chambersburg and The Women of the Moose Lodges in Chambersburg and Mercersburg.  Mrs. Kuhn was an adventurous spirit, she enjoyed singing and dancing well into her later years, sharing in a good laugh, playing cards, puzzles, painting, music, and going to the Greencastle Senior Center.

Surviving are four children, Dennis R. Kuhn of Chambersburg, PA;  Donna L. Young of Greencastle, PA; Randy L. Kuhn (wife Lee) of Falling Waters, WV; and Fred J. Kuhn (wife Lynnette) of Chambersburg, PA; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Fred Crider of Quarryville, PA. She is also survived by two sisters in law, Mary Louise Harshman and Evelyn Crider. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis S. Kuhn in 2002, two sons, John Curtis Kuhn in infancy in 1952 and Rex O. Kuhn in 1990 and three siblings, Louise Skelly, Dorothy Stouffer, and Virgil Crider.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at 10 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Peter Emig will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Solomon’s U.C.C., 1594 Swamp Fox Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
