Naomi I. Rice

Naomi I. Rice, age 102, of Waynesboro, PA, was called home on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at her home. Born in Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter H. and Elizabeth Shank Rice. 

A champion for the Lord, Ms. Rice preached the gospel, lived and led by example, led many bible studies and travelled to preach his word. Naomi was an ordained minister, and attended World Harvest Outreach Church in Chambersburg.  Ms. Rice was the last of her immediate family. 

She is survived by her friends and caregivers, Fred and Sylvia Gayman, with whom she resided and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 14 siblings, Pearl Hoffman, Edith Duffey, Anna Bowers, Irvin Rice, Minnie Pittman, Clifford Rice, Mary Burkholder, Harvey Rice, Otho Rice, Mildred Johnston, Preston Rice, Goldie Elliott, Walter Rice and Melvin Rice.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 11 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Pastor Mark Durniak will officiate. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery. It was Naomi's wish that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to a mission organization of your choice.
