On Saturday September 11, 2010, Nadine Elizabeth Phillippy, age 74 of Greencastle, PA. went home to be with the Lord. She had been hospitalized at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown after a brief illness.
Born November 16, 1935 in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late George Harper and Elizabeth (Coffman) Wolfe.
Nadine was a 1953 graduate of the Hagerstown High School. On August 27, 1955 she married John S. "Jack" Phillippy and they spent 55 years together. During the following years, she was employed as a secretary in the construction industry, last being employed by Perini Construction of Hagerstown. Her favorite job was that of wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Greencastle and a member of the Greencastle Loyal Daughters.
In addition to her husband Jack, she is survived by one son John H. (husband of Torncee) Phillippy, two grandsons John C. Phillippy and Jared C. Phillippy, all of Greencastle, PA. and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers Markwood, Richard, Emory, Irvin "Leon" and Jack Wolfe as well as two sisters Winifred Alexander and
Mary Ticer.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 16 at 1:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. William DeHass officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M.
