Mrs. Myrtle Louise Leckron Hartle
Mrs. Myrtle L. Hartle, 86, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday afternoon May 29, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. She was the wife of the late Mr. Richard Lee Hartle, who died on April 9, 2012.
Born September 23, 1925, in Franklin County, near State Line, she was a daughter of the late Nelson Russell and Lillian Celeste (Byers) Leckron. She was a 1943 graduate of Greencastle High School.
Prior to marriage, Mrs. Hartle worked for Fairchild Industries, Hagerstown. As a homemaker in later years, she enjoyed working with flowers and sending cheer notes to shut-in friends.
Mrs. Hartle was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Hagerstown. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the State Line Ruritan Club, and member of the former Greencastle AARP, Chapter 3025. She was also a charter member of Middleburg/Mason-Dixon Historical Society, Inc., that formed in 1996.
Surviving are her four sons, Barry Lynn Hartle and wife Kathy of Greencastle, Dan Lee Hartle, Alexander Ted Hertel, and Roland Leo Hartle of Hagerstown; grandchildren Jeffrey D. Hartle and Tracy L. Hartle Pipkin; siblings Rosalie C. Hykes of Greencastle and Roy F. Leckron of Waynesboro; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hartle was preceded in death by brothers, John E. Leckron, Earl L. Leckron and Harold A. Leckron.
The Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling the arrangements. There will not be visiting at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012, 1:00 PM at Beautiful View Cemetery, Middleburg/State Line with Rev. Dr. John A. Toms of St. Paul''s Reformed Church, Clear Spring officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the St. Paul''s Reformed Church 14234 National Pike Clear Spring, MD 21722.
