Myron A. Starr, age 61, of 141 Leitersburg St., Greencastle, PA died at 7:25 A.M. on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in his home.

Born October 12, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD he is the son of Junior G. and Pauline (Clever) Starr of Greencastle, PA.

He and his wife, Cindy (Souders) Starr were married September 10, 1967 in McConnellsburg, PA.

He was a 1964 graduate of the James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg, PA. He was a toolmaker & assembler at the former Grove Manufacturing in Shady Grove, PA, retiring after over 42 years of employment.

Mr. Starr was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was a Life Member and former Post Commander of the Harry D. Zeigler VFW Post #6319 of Greencastle, PA. He was a member of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373 of Greencastle, PA and the AMVETS Post #010 of Hagerstown, MD.

He was a member of the former Civil War Round Table, enjoyed NASCAR, cross word puzzles, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are:
One Daughter; Amy Sheeley and One Son; Tony Starr both of Greencastle, PA.

Four Brothers; Dolan Starr of Greencastle, PA, Don Starr of State Line, PA, Marvin Starr & Travis Starr both of Williamsport, MD. Three Sisters; Phyllis Baker of Clear Spring, MD, Vanessa Neeley of Harrisburg, PA and Debbie Barnhart of Greencastle, PA.

Five Grandchildren and Numerous Nieces & Nephews

He was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Starr.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 5, 2008 from the Greencastle Bible Church, 350 W. Madison St., Greencastle, PA with Rev. Jeffrey A. Ehko officiating. Burial with military graveside honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The Greencastle V.F.W. will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
