Milton Linwood Strite, age 70 of 1665 Mason Dixon Rd. Greencastle, PA. passed away at 7:25 P.M. Tuesday August 9, 2011 at his home after a short battle with lymphoma.
Born November 18, 1940 in Washington County, MD., he was the son of the late C. Merle Strite and Anna G. (Hostetter) Strite of New Oxford, PA. He was a member of the Paradise Mennonite Church.
Milton was a self-employed farmer for 40 years and more recently was employed as a sawyer at Shaffer Products LLC of Greencastle. He was preceded in death by his first wife Juanita M. (Bates) Strite in 2002. He then married Eunice R. (Diller) Strite on June 4, 2004.
In addition to his mother and his wife Eunice, he is survived by two daughters Ellen (Mrs. David) Ebersole, Greencastle, PA., Marietta (Mrs. Michael) Eby, Hagerstown, MD., two sons, Jason M. (wife Rachel) Strite, Waynesboro, PA., James M. (wife Lorraine) Strite, Greencastle, PA., two brothers Lewis Strite, of Virginia, Amos Strite, of New Mexico, one sister Rosa Zehr, of Florida, 13 Grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father C. Merle Strite in 1988 and by one brother Marvin D. Strite in 2007.
Funeral services will be held on Monday morning August 15 at 10:00 A.M. from the Millers Mennonite Church near Leitersburg, MD. with the Paradise Mennonite Church Ministry officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:30- 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Paradise Mennonite Church on Air View Rd. Hagerstown and one hour before the service on Monday at the Millers Mennonite Church. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
