Milladean "Deany" Farmer, age 79, a resident of Quincy Home and formerly of Greencastle died at 11:31 AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in the nursing home. She had been declining in health for the past several years.
Born September 26, 1929 in Blue Diamond, KY she was the daughter of the late Clifford Beech and Melissa Jeanne (Combs) Clemons.
She and her husband, Clyde Farmer Jr. were married on September 28, 1952 in Helen, WV. He died on January 1, 1979.
She was a homemaker. Later in life she worked as a sales clerk for various stores and as a house parent for the Children''s Aid Society in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Mrs. Farmer was a graduate of Mark Twain High School in Helen, WV and attended the former Beckley College in Beckley, WV.
Surviving family are three daughters, Margaret E. (wife of Robert Jr.) Lake of Chambersburg, PA, Patricia G. (wife of David) Cordell of Fayetteville, PA, Jeanne A. (wife of Benjamin F.) Kennedy of Greencastle, PA; one brother, James Thomas Clemons of Tucson, AZ.; Eight grandchildren, Miranda Murray, Joshua Lake, Steven Lake, Erin Enz, Melissa Chitwood, James Kennedy, Elaine Jacobs, and Julie Kennedy; Four great-grandchildren, Makayla, Brent, Valorie and John. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Clemons.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 20th at 2 PM from the Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
