Mildred Mae (Witmer) Landis, age 82 a resident of the Village Of Laurel Run of Fayetteville, PA and formerly of Chambersburg died at 11:43 PM Thursday, November 14, 2013 in the nursing home. She had been in declining health the past several months.

Born October 22, 1931 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Diller) Witmer. She married John Charles Landis on July 21, 1951. He died on November 19, 1994.

She retired from Menno Haven of Chambersburg where she had worked as the head of the housekeeping department.  Mildred was an active member of the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church near Greencastle. She enjoyed traveling, playing games, talking and visiting with people.

Surviving family are one daughter Cleta F. Conrad and husband Dennis of Waynesboro, VA, one son Linwood G. Landis and wife Marcia of Blue Ball, PA, three grandchildren, Christopher Landis, Jerome Landis and wife Crysti, Shad Conrad and wife Angela,  two great- grandchildren, two sisters,  Dortha Kipe of Greencastle, Retha Keener of Hagerstown, MD,  three brothers, Richard Witmer and Clarence Witmer, both of Greencastle and Raymond Witmer of Morgantown, West Virginia.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers Nathan Witmer and Kenneth Witmer.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 19 at 11:00 AM from the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church 13343 Williamsport Pike Greencastle, PA with Pastor Wes Boyer officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 – 8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA and at the church one hour before the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church 13343 Williamsport Pike Greencastle, PA 17225 or to the Missionary work of Rob Cahill C/O Cedar Grove Mennonite Church.
