Michael W. Talhelm

Michael W. Talhelm, 71, of Chambersburg, PA passed away unexpectedly in his home, Thursday, September 19, 2024. Born January 4, 1953 in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of the late Paul G. and W. Lucille (Bonebrake) Talhelm.

He was a graduate of Greencastle Antrim High School with the Class of 1970. Mike then went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree from Shepherd University in 1974. Later he obtained his master’s degree from Frostburg State University. Mike was employed as a human resources administrator for Washington County Health System and Robinwood Medical Center. Following his retirement, he was employed for Hospice of Washington County in human resources for a number of years.

Mike was an active member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle where he served as a council member. He was an avid Chicago White Sox fan as well as a UNC Tarheels Men’s Basketball fan.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 44 years, Karen (Lader) Talhelm who he married October 18, 1980 and a son, Matthew R. Talhelm of Raleigh, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 25, 2024 in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 South Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, 17225. Burial will be private in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA.
