Michael Shane Anderson, age 32, of York, PA died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in his home in York.
Born November 23, 1982 in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of Judy (Lehman) Shatzer of Chambersburg and Leonard “Andy” Anderson of Three Springs, PA and the step-son of Bonita Anderson.
Michael was currently working at Johnson Controls of York in assembly support and was previously employed at Graham Packaging in York. He graduated from Southern Huntingdon High School and had also attended the East Cocalico High School in Denver, PA. While in high school he was an avid wrestler.
He was a self-taught musician and enjoyed writing his songs and playing his acoustic guitar. His hobbies included wood carving and making canes and walking sticks.
Family surviving in addition to his mother, father and step-mother are a half-brother Ethan Anderson and wife Erin, one nephew Wyatt Anderson, paternal grandfather Charles Anderson, Aunt Cheryl Forrest, Uncles Doug, Darrell and Carl Lehman, Aunts Linda Morgan and Florene Chilcote, Step-Aunt Natasha Waite and a number of cousins.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Charles and Mary Lehman and paternal grandmother Dorcas Anderson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 28 at 11:30 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Ray Kipe officiating. There will be a visitation for family and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00- 11:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to Life’s Beacon Foundation 506 North George St. York, PA 17404.
