Mervin D. Hock, age 57 of 902 Williamson Rd. Greencastle, Pa. died unexpectedly at 7:20 P.M. Monday December 20, 2010 in the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Born October 9, 1953, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of Margaret M. (Myers) Hock of Nyesville, Pa. and the late C. Walter Hock Sr.
He was employed at Lehman''s Egg Service near Greencastle for over 20 years.
He and his wife, Deborah (Hollinger) Hock were married June 25, 1977 in Antrim Brethren In Christ Church near Chambersburg.
Mervin was a member of the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church and served as an usher for many years. He was a 1972 graduate of Shippensburg High School. He enjoyed boating, hunting and going to the mountains.
Surviving family in addition to his mother and wife are one son Ryan David Hock, at home, five sisters, Isabel Overcash, Chambersburg, Julia Bowman, Nyesville, Rosalie Tarman, Chambersburg, Janet Ordway, North Carolina, Brenda Kaufman, Carlisle and one brother C. Walter Hock Jr., Newville. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 27 at 11:00 A.M. from the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church 24 E. Kauffman Rd. Chambersburg with Rev. Ky R. Searcy officiating. Burial will be in the Air Hill Cemetery Chambersburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church and at the church one hour before the service on Monday.
