Melissa K. “Missy” (Gearhart) Routzahn, age 49 of Chambersburg, PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday afternoon, January 5, 2015 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born February 9, 1965 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of Charles Sr. and Linda (Gladhill) Gearhart of Waynesboro, PA. She married Charles R. “Bud” Routzahn on June 6, 1987.
Missy was a homemaker and had worked at the former Corning Glass of Greencastle and last worked as the guest services coordinator at Rhodes Grove Camp & Conference Center near Chambersburg.
Missy was an active member of the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church near Chambersburg where she was also a member of the Home Builders Sunday School Class. She also directed a number of drama productions at the church and also at Rhodes Grove.
She was a 1983 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School. Missy enjoyed going to the beach, cooking, entertaining in her home and reading her Bible.
Surviving family in addition to her husband and parents are one son Brady E. Routzahn of Chambersburg, one daughter, Brittany A. Routzahn, of Chambersburg, maternal grandmother Flora Gladhill of Waynesboro, PA, paternal grandmother, Audrey Gearhart, a resident of Quincy Retirement Home, one brother Charles Gearhart Jr. of Waynesboro, PA.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Oscar Gladhill and grandfather Stanley Gearhart.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 10 at 1:00 PM at the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church Family Life Center 24 Kauffman Road East Chambersburg with Pastor Ky R. Searcy officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Rhodes Grove Camp and Conference Center 7693 Browns Mill Rd. Chambersburg, PA 17202 or for her children’s education c/o Charles R. Routzahn 8072 Talhelm Road Chambersburg, PA 17202. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M.
