Mary Lou Gingrich

Mary Lou (Schenck) Gingrich, age 85, a resident of the Penn Hall Nursing Center in Chambersburg and formerly of Greencastle died Tuesday evening May 26, 2015 in the nursing center.

Born February 10, 1930 in McConnellsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jerrise and Evelyn (Angle) Schenck. Her husband William R. Gingrich died on August 5, 1985.

Mary Lou was a homemaker and had worked as a teacher’s aide in the Greencastle-Antrim Elementary School. She graduated from the former Lemasters High School and had volunteered with the Chambersburg Hospital for 23 years.

She was a member of the Greencastle Presbyterian Church and a member of the Greencastle-Antrim Loyal Daughters.

Surviving family are one daughter Lisa D. Welsh of Weare, NH, one brother Fred C.  Schenck of Greencastle, three granddaughters, six great-grandchildren and one aunt Betty Lehman of Greencastle.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son W. Kirk Gingrich who died in 1992.
There will be a private memorial service and a private interment at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to   Summit Health (Chambersburg Hospital) c/o the Development Office 785 Fifth Ave. Suite 1 Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to the American Cancer Society Franklin/Fulton Unit 924- N.
