Mary Jane "Janey" (Pensinger) Benchoff

Mary Jane “Janey” Benchoff, age 86, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Williamsport Retirement Village. Born April 16, 1937, in Greencastle, PA she was the daughter of the late Emmert R. Pensinger and Isabelle (John) Wilson.

Janey worked for the former J. Schoenaman Company for 40 years, where she retired. She enjoyed playing cards, people watching, and in her younger years, water skiing.

Surviving are three children, Vicky L. Warner (Kermit Elliott) of Greencastle, PA, Michael K. Benchoff (Paula) of Greencastle, PA, and Barbara J. Piper (Tim) of Greencastle, PA; a daughter in law, Linda D. Benchoff of Greencastle, PA; six grandchildren, Derek Piper (Kayla Frain), Kurtis Benchoff, Cyndi Hawes (Eric), Samantha Benchoff, Michael Reath (Jen Shields), and Jennifer Piatt (David); and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Benchoff in 2003, a son, Ricky R. Benchoff in 2013, a grandson, Slade Benchoff, and a sister, Joan Pensinger.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 11 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 South Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Pastor Andrew Paterno will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
