Mary Pauline (Eckenrode) Rife, age 81 of Chambersburg, PA died at 12:15 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 6, 1932 in St. Thomas Twp. Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Mary C. (Eberly) Eckenrode. Her husband Kenneth Cosey Rife died in 1986. Pauline was a mother and homemaker and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. She was a member of the King Street United Brethren Church of Chambersburg and an associate member of the St. Thomas American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed having a laugh and helping out friends and family. Surviving family are two daughters Constance Helms and husband Al, Deborrah Seiders and husband Buddy, all of Chambersburg, five sons, Kenneth Rife and wife Kimberly, Donald Rife and wife Linda, Darryl Rife and wife Tammy, Brian Rife, all of Chambersburg, Dennis Rife and wife Renee of Greencastle, 10 Grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, three sisters Mildred Spielman of Fayetteville, PA, Donna Hawk of Chambersburg, Linda Hollingshead of Virginia, two brothers Russell Eckenrode and Richard Eckenrode, both of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters Dorothy Eckenrode and Ruth Alleman. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 21 at 11:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Lester Stine officiating. Burial will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 – 8 PM and one hour before the service on Tuesday.
