Mary Elizabeth Meyers

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Shank Meyers, 79, of Chambersburg, died late Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of the late Issac M. Meyers who preceded her in death on June 11, 1995.
Born October 14, 1932, in Maryland, she was a daughter of the late William Robert and Lillie Irene Monninger Shank. She graduated Greencastle-Antrim High School.
Mrs. Meyers worked the former Stanley Company of Chambersburg.
She attended Antrim Brethren in Christ Church where she participated with the Women''s Sewing Circle. She also helped with their dramatic productions, assisting with props and costumes.
In addition to sewing, Mrs. Meyers enjoyed caring for others. She was a wonderful cook, and a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Surviving is her daughter Darlene Meyers of Shippensburg; grandson, Jeremy Meyers and wife Robin of Chambersburg; and great grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda; as well as brothers, F. Albert, Gerald, Leslie, Joe, W. Robert, and John Shank; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Meyers was preceded in death by sisters Effie Fetterhoff and Irene Helman.
The Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling the arrangements. There will not be calling at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, on Thursday, April 26, at 10:00 AM. The Rev. Ky R. Searcy of Antrim Brethren in Christ Church will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Katie''s Place, 130 South Penn Street, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania 17257.
