Esther M. Martin, age 87 a resident of the Mennonite Fellowship Home 12349 Huyett Lane Hagerstown, Md. died at 2:54 A.M. Wednesday March 26, 2008 in the home.
Born April 18, 1920 in York County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Samuel J. and Maggie S. (Martin) Diller.
Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and a member of the Reiff Mennonite Church near Cearfoss, Md. She and her husband, Donald H. Martin were married February 6, 1941.
Surviving family in addition to her husband of 67 years are:
One son, Darrel R. (Husband of Orpha M.) Martin of Hagerstown, Md.
Two daughters, Darlene F. (Wife Of Mylin E. ) Horst and Lois S. (Wife Of Donald A.) Horst, both of Hagerstown, Md.
One sister, Ruth M. Martin, a resident of the Mennonite Fellowship Home, Hagerstown
One Foster Brother, Harvey D. Martin of Menno Haven, Chambersburg, Pa.
Twelve Grandchildren and Forty-Three great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by one sister Naomi E. Martin and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 29 at 9:00 A.M. from the Reiff Mennonite Church near Cearfoss with the Reiff Mennonite Church Ministry officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Saturday. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
