Mary K. (Miller) Bennett, age 87, a resident of ManorCare Health Services of Chambersburg and formerly of Waynesboro and Greencastle died at 11:15 AM Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in the nursing home.
Born March 19, 1928 in Markes, PA, she was the daughter of the late Melvin M. and Rosetta (Hopple) Miller.
Mary was last employed at the New Hope Shelter Thrift Store in Waynesboro. She was a member of the Moose Club and the Moose Club Auxiliary of Waynesboro, Waynesboro V.F.W. and Greencastle American Legion.
She enjoyed playing bingo, reading and going to yard sales.
Surviving family are two daughters Debra Divelbiss and husband Ronald of Greencastle, PA, Audrey Lucchitti and husband Daniel of Pittsburgh, PA, five sons, Earl Bennett and wife Linda of Waynesboro, PA, Roger Bennett and wife Donna of Rouzerville, PA, Jerry Bennett and wife Debbie of Greencastle, PA, Lee Bennett and wife Barb of Wells Tannery, PA, Perry Bennett and wife Debbie of Newville, PA, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Jean Miller of Mercersburg, PA.
She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by two brothers Melvin Miller Jr., Roy Miller and two sisters Mildred Smith and Erma Orris.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 8 at 11:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Joel Nogle officiating. Burial will be in the Stenger Hill Cemetery Fort Loudon, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to Heartland Hospice 417 Phoenix Dr. Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to the New Hope Shelter 25 S. Potomac St. Waynesboro, PA 17268.
