Mary Jane (Bear) Baumbaugh
Mary Jane (Bear) Baumbaugh, age 81 of Greencastle went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born October 13, 1933 in Lemasters, PA, she was the daughter of the late Roy M. and Clara A. (Ommert) Bear. She married C. Richard Baumbaugh on October 5, 1958 in Greencastle.
Mary Jane was a 1952 graduate of Greencastle High School. She then graduated from the Harrisburg School of Cosmetology and opened Tudy’s Beauty Shop in Greencastle. She became a stay at home mother and was a very faithful and caring mother and wife. Mary Jane was also devoted to caring for her parents, her husband’s parents and aging uncle.
She had many hobbies and interests including cooking, ceramics and painting, both oil and water colors. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and granddaughters.
Mary Jane attended the Grace Bible Church of Greencastle; for many years she was a member of the Macedonia United Brethren Church near Greencastle where she taught junior classes. She later attended the original Calvary Bible Church of Greencastle for approximately 28 years.
Surviving family in addition to her husband of 56 years are one son, Dale R. Baumbaugh of Greencastle, one daughter, Judy L. Baumbaugh Holian and husband Jim of Middletown, MD, three granddaughters, Amber Benson, Jill Crone and Brittany Holian.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 30 at 2:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Herman Fisler officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and one hour before the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Grace Bible Church Building Fund 2327 Hoffman Rd. Greencastle, PA 17225.
