Mary E. Bauman, age 83 of 54 Sunny Lane Chambersburg died at 7:38 P.M. Friday January 29, 2010 in ManorCare Health Services of Chambersburg.
Born May 7, 1926 in Souderton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Elda (Kissel) Overpeck.
She and her husband, Harold S. Bauman were married May 26, 1946 in Souderton.
She had worked at the McBeth Corporation and was last employed at the former Water Wheel Child Care Center both of Chambersburg.
Mary was a member of the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church near Chambersburg and the Berean Sunday School Class.
Surviving family in addition to her husband are two daughters Diane C. Bowers, Mechanicsburg, Pa., Lori A. (Wife of Evan) Burkholder, Fayetteville, Pa., two sons, Donald R. Bauman, Camp Hill, Pa., Ronald R. (Husband of Joan) Bauman, Manheim, Pa., two sisters, Florence Detwiler and Ruth Ditty, both of Harleysville, Pa., three brothers Leon Overpeck, Lancaster, Pa., Ray Overpeck, Telford, Pa. , Merrill Overpeck, Souderton, Pa., eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother Charles Overpeck and a half-sister Elizabeth Hunsberger.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 4 at 11:00 A.M. from the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church 24 East Kauffman Rd. Chambersburg with Pastor Ky R. Searcy officiating. Burial will be in the Air Hill Brethren In Christ Church Cemetery Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 9 - 11 A.M. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church 24 East Kauffman Rd. Chambersburg Pa. 17202 or to Heartland Hospice 1200 Walnut Bottom Rd.
