Mr. Marvin Curtis Meyers, 87, of Greencastle, died suddenly early Wednesday morning, April 3, 2013, at Chambersburg Hospital. He was the husband of Mrs. Martha Louise Bricker Meyers, his wife of 62 years.

Born March 4, 1926, at home on a farm in Peters Township, he was a son of the late Aaron Harvey and Fannie Catherine Rotz Meyers.

Mr. Meyers continued the family business of dairy farming until he retired; for well over 70 years.

He was a devoted member of Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church, Mercersburg, serving as deacon for 38 years, church board member, Sunday School teacher, and Superintendent.

He was also a member of Gideon''s International.

Besides his wife, Mr. Meyers is survived his children, Brenda Davidson and husband Robert of Newville, Lucinda Oberholzer and Nelson of Greencastle, Micah Meyers, Sr. and wife Deborah, also of Greencastle, and Marsha Myers and husband Darrin of Chambersburg; as well as sixteen grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren; his daughter-in-law Gina Miller and her husband Charles of Greencastle; and his sister, May Mummert of Chambersburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Stanley Meyers who died January 11, 2002; and his siblings, Ruth Wentling, Earl Meyers, and Marvin''s twin Myron Meyers.

The Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling the arrangements. There will not be visiting at the funeral home. The family will, however, receive friends at their church, Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church, Mercersburg, on Sunday, April 7, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be at the church on Monday, April 8, at 10:30 AM. His pastor, Rev. Dennis L. Ritchey, assisted by Rev. Raymond R. Martin, will officiate. Interment will follow in the churchyard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Meyer''s name to Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church, 6727 Montgomery Church Road, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania 17236; or to Gideon''s International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, Tennessee 37214-0800.
