Marshall Edgar "Ed" Bricker, age 80 of 149 East Leitersburg St. Greencastle, Pa. died unexpectedly at 5:30 P.M. Tuesday September 18, 2007 in the Waynesboro Hospital following a brief illness.

Born September 13, 1927 in Lemasters, Pa. he was the son of the late Lloyd C. and Ethel Ellen (Tenley) Bricker.

He retired after 42 years employment at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg.
Mr. Bricker was a member of the Greencastle Church Of The Brethren where he served as an usher and was the superintendent of the buildings and grounds. He was a life member of the Rescue Hose Co. # 1 of Greencastle where he was an engineer, apparatus driver and was active on numerous committees. Ed was a life member and past president of the Franklin- Fulton County Firemen''s Association and he was a life member of the Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firemen''s Association where he served as a Pennsylvania director and was a member of the credentials committee. Mr. Bricker was also a member of the Firemen''s Association Of The State Of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Bricker was a life member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 and was a member of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373, both of Greencastle.
He attended the Greencastle High School and was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II and the Korean conflict.

He and his wife, Martha A. (Toms) Bricker were married July 6, 1947 in Hagerstown, Md.

Surviving family in addition to his wife of 60 years are:

Son, Tom E. (Husband of Donna) Bricker, of Ellicott City, Md.

Two Sisters, H. Leona Miller and Louise G. (Wife of Robert) Horst, both of Greencastle, Pa.

Two Grandchildren, Jeremy Cavey and Sara Cavey, both of Ellicott City, MD.

He was preceded in death by a son Timothy E. Bricker in 1968.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 22 at 11:00 A.M. from the Greencastle Church Of The Brethren 36 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Leon R. Yoder officiating. Burial with military graveside honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Friday evening from 6 - 9 P.M. and at the church one hour before the service on Saturday. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open after 2:00 P.M. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Greencastle Church Of The Brethren 36 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, Pa. 17225 or to the Rescue Hose Co. #1 842 South Washington St. Greencastle, Pa. 17225. The fire company members will meet at the funeral home on Friday at 7:15 P.M. and the Greencastle V.F.W. Post #6319 will hold a memorial service at 8:30 P.M. Friday at the the funeral home.
