Mark David Leland

Mark David Leland, age 51, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away unexpectedly at Meritus Medical Center on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Born July 6, 1970, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of Grace Leland and the late Donald M. Leland. Mark was a 1989 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. He worked for the last 11 years for FedEx in Hagerstown, until he was no longer able to work as he battled cancer. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Orioles fan, Mark enjoyed following and studying their statistics. That ability with numbers translated to everything of interest. Mark’s mind was continually turning with statistics, facts, and numbers - ask him anything and he loved to talk about it. In addition to his stepmother, Mark is survived by his siblings, Donald Leland, Jr. of Mont Alto, PA, Michelle Leland of Atlanta, GA, Sheryl (husband Kirk) Christman of Chambersburg, PA, Chuck (wife Michelle) Beatty of Coltons Point, MD, and Mike (wife Sharon) Beatty of Chambersburg, PA. Many thanks to Dr. Giffi and the oncology staff at Meritus Medical Center for the care, support, and hope throughout the years. Services and interment are private.
