Marilyn L. (Barrick) Myers, age 86 a resident of Providence Place Chambersburg since December 2011 and formerly of Letzburg Rd. Greencastle died at 12:05 AM Friday, November 13, 2015 at Providence Place.
Born August 24, 1929 in Newville, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Georgia (Houck) Barrick. She married J. Lester Myers on May 7, 1949. He died on April 19, 2013.
She was a homemaker and she also worked at the former Corning Glass Works of Greencastle for 25 years. She graduated from Messiah Academy in Grantham, PA. Marilyn had been a member of the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church near Mercersburg and last attended the Greencastle Church of God. In her younger years, she served as a Sunday School teacher.
She enjoyed gardening and bird watching
Surviving family are one daughter Marcilyn M. Sipes of Greencastle, four sons J. Edward Myers and life partner Lisa Houck of Fort Loudon, PA, David Myers of Grand Junction, Colorado, Jeff Myers and wife Carol and Ray Myers and wife Wanda, all of Greencastle, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one brother Isaac Barrick of Halifax. PA.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 18 at 11;00 AM from the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church 6727 Montgomery Church Rd. Mercersburg with Rev. Floyd Myers.
officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home
