Mariam P. Auman, age 82 a resident of the Menno Haven Nursing Center Chambersburg and formerly of Greencastle, Pa. died at 1:15 A.M. Friday August 17, 2007 in the nursing center.
Born April 2, 1925 near Mercersburg, Pa. she was the daughter of the late William L. and Mae K. (Martin) Auman.
She had retired from the former Corning Glass Works of Greencastle, Pa. and in her earlier years she worked at the former Stanley Co. of Chambersburg.
Ms. Auman was a member of the Greencastle Church Of The Brethren and was a graduate of Greencastle High School. She enjoyed traveling and served as a volunteer at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Surviving family are five nieces, LaVonne Shank of New Oxford, Pa., Donna Martin of Greencastle, Pa., Diane Hawbaker, Wanda Negley and Roxane Witmer, all of Mercersburg, Pa. and one nephew, Duane Hawbaker of Mercersburg, Pa.
Numerous great nieces and great nephews
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Janet B. Hawbaker on October 8, 1987 and Vera P. Auman on May 7, 2004.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday August 22 at 10:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, Pa. with Pastor Leon R. Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the Upton Church Of The Brethren Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Benevolent Care Fund of Menno Haven 2075 Scotland Ave. Chambersburg, Pa. 17201 or to the Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice 1200 Walnut Bottom Rd. Suite 302 Carlisle, Pa. 17013.
