Margaret L. Martin

Margaret L. (Shockey) Martin, age 80 of 5685 Montgomery Church Rd. Greencastle, Pa. died unexpectedly Saturday, March 19, 2011 in the emergency room of the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born October 20, 1930 in Romney, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Tempie L. (Hose) Shockey.

She had retired from the Western Maryland Center of Hagerstown in 1989. She and her husband Arden E. "A.E." Martin were married July 3, 1952. He died on January 10, 1997.

Margaret was a member of the Two Top Fellowship Church near Mercersburg. She was also a member of the Tuscarora Senior Activity Center.

Margaret graduated from the Capon Bridge West Virginia High School and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dog Cookie.

Surviving family are two daughters Beverly S. Recard, Waynesboro, Judy L. Daley, Greencastle, two sons, Michael E. Martin, Greencastle, Bruce W. Martin, Fayetteville, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her family and was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 24 at 2:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Paul Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Thursday.
