Mabel G. Izer

Mabel G. Izer, age 98 of Lynn Dr. Greencastle, PA died at 2:40 A.M. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in the Falling Spring Nursing And Rehabilitation Center Chambersburg where she has been a resident for the past three months.

Born January 17, 1913 in Antrim Twp. Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Grace (Kriner) Landis.
She married G. Robert Izer on May 27, 1932 in Frederick, MD. He died on February 5, 2007.

Mabel was a lifetime and oldest member of Shank''s Church Of The Brethren near Greencastle. She enjoyed gardening, growing roses, crocheting and really loved being with her family.

Surviving family are three sons, B. Robert (wife Jacqueline) Izer, Shady Grove, Donald E. (wife Truela) Izer, Waynesboro and Kenneth E. (wife Sandy) Izer, Greencastle, two sisters, Mary Rice Chambersburg, Carrie Martin, Maugansville, MD, eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers Martin Landis, Roy Landis, Bill Landis, four sisters Dorothy Long, Ruth Martin, Elva Landis, Bertha Winsor and an infant brother Elmer Landis.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 17 at 11:00 A.M. from the Shank''s Church Of The Brethren near Greencastle with Ministers David Stahl and John Shelly officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S.
