Mabel G. (Rotz) Gearhart, age 84 a resident of the Falling Spring Nursing And Rehabilitation Center Chambersburg for the last month and formerly of Williamson Rd. Greencastle died at 2:38 P.M. Tuesday, June 5, 2007 in the nursing center. She had been in declining health the past six months.
Born June 9, 1922 in St. Thomas, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Musselman) Rotz.
Mrs. Gearhart worked for the former Stanley Co. of Chambersburg and the former GEM Garment of Greencastle.
She was a member of the Ebenezer "Guitners" United Brethren Church near Greencastle where she also was a member of the Women''s Missionary Society. Mrs. Gearhart had been a member of the Greencastle TOPS organization.
She and her husband, James L. "Jim" Gearhart were married February 15, 1941. He died on July 29, 2002.

Three Daughters, Barbara Ann (Wife of Ray) Heckman of Mercersburg, Pa., Nancy Lee (Wife of Harry) Shipley of Chambersburg, Pa. and Judith I. (Wife of Martin) Kelly of Claysburg, Pa.
Two Sisters, Agnes Shatzer of Virginia and Irene Newman of Chambersburg, Pa.
Eight Grandchildren and Ten Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a brother Clarence Rotz and a sister Anna Dentler.
Funeral services will be held on Friday June 8 at 10:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Richard Mose and Rev. Eric Beck officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 P.M. this evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center 201 Franklin Farm Lane Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
