M. Joan Miller

M. Joan Miller, age 78 of 11501 Bemisderfer Rd. Greencastle died early Saturday morning December 26, 2009 in her home.

Born August 28, 1931 in Waynesboro, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Winona (Hess) Wishard.

She retired from the former Regency Thermographers of Waynesboro. Joan was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Greencastle, member of the Greencastle Homemakers, member of the A.A.R.P. and a member of the Mack Golden Bulldogs. She was also a member of the Rescue Hose Co. # 1 of Greencastle and its'' former Ladies Auxiliary where she had served as President, Secretary and Treasurer.

She and her husband, Thomas E. Miller were married June 24, 1950. He died on March 5, 1991.

Surviving family are two daughters, Karen Herrmann, Greencastle, Teresa Flory, Waynesboro, son Larry D. Miller, Greencastle, brother William O. Wishard, Fayetteville, sister, Dianne Wortz, Waynesboro, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 30 at 10:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. William W. DeHass officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens of Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M.
