Louise G. Horst

Louise G. (Bricker) Horst, age 84 of 50 South Linden Ave. Greencastle, Pa. died at 10:57 P.M. Friday December 3, 2010 in the Quincy Retirement Village.

Born May 12, 1926 in Lemasters, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Lloyd C. and Ethel Ellen (Tenley) Bricker.

Louise married Robert E. Horst Sr. on February 25, 1945. He died on February 29, 2008. She had retired from Beck Mfg. of Greencastle where she had worked as office manager.

Louise was a member of the Greencastle Church Of The Brethren where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a Girl Scout leader and helped her husband with many Greencastle Little League activities and had organized the Bloomer Girls fund raiser event for the Little League.

Louise was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 of Greencastle and had served on the local Board of Elections.

She was a 1944 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Surviving family are two sons, Robert E. Horst Jr. and wife Sandie, Sykesville, Md., Gary L. Horst and wife Jessie, Mont Alto, Pa., one daughter Robin L. Wagaman and husband Wayne, Mt. Airy, Md., one sister H. Leona Miller, Greencastle, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson and one brother Marshall Edgar Bricker.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 8 at 11:00 A.M. from the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg with Pastor Leon Yoder officiating. There will be no public viewing but the family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle.
