Louella M. Hoover

Louella M. (Davis) Hoover, age 82 of Nicole Dr. Greencastle, PA died at 2:28 PM Monday March 6, 2017 in the Chambersburg Hospital following a brief illness.

Born April 19, 1934 in Wingerton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mabel (Heckman) Davis. She married her husband Donald H. Hoover on November 4, 1950.

She last worked as the parts manager at the former Powlen Equipment Co. of Hagerstown. In her earlier years, she worked at the former Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown and at The Cubby Hole, one of Greencastle’s former favorite hangouts.

Louella was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greencastle and attended the Greencastle High School. For many years she enjoyed playing 500 with the card club, enjoyed bowling over the years in local bowling leagues and she enjoyed putting puzzles together. She also loved to golf, attending, for many years high school sporting events with her husband and enjoyed lots of fun activities with family and friends throughout her life.

Surviving family in addition to her husband of 66 years are three sons, Donald L. Hoover and wife Debra  of Jacksonville, FL, R. Joe Hoover and his significant other Marilyn Boyd Snyder of Greencastle, Tony A. Hoover and wife Sheila of Greencastle, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Richard Davis.
