Lois V. Stine, age 74 of 14260 Ridge Rd. Waynesboro, Pa. died unexpectedly at 12:29 A.M. Monday, April 14, 2008 in the emergency room of the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born December 1, 1933 in Kauffman Station, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Marvin W. Mowen and Hazel (Gelsinger) Mowen Shatzer.
She was a homemaker and had worked at the former Fresh Express and Baer Packing Co. of Greencastle.
She attended the former Broadway School on Ridge Rd.
Mrs. Stine enjoyed embroidery, flowers and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan.
She and her husband, Charles B. Stine Sr. were married April 10, 1952 in Hagerstown, Md.
Surviving family in addition to her husband of 56 years are;
Two daughters, Linda Kint of Mechanicsville, Md. and Barbara Beaver of Greencastle, Pa.
Three sons, Charles B. Stine Jr, Mercersburg, Pa., Jeffrey L. Stine and Steven C. Stine Sr., both of Waynesboro, Pa.
Two Sisters, Patricia Wolfe, Chambersburg, Pa. and Nancy Helman, Upper Strasburg, Pa.
Four Brothers, Jack Mowen, Fayetteville, Pa., Harry Mowen, Ft. Loudon, Pa., L. Frank Mowen and Clifford Mowen, both of Greencastle, Pa.
Eight Grandchildren and Eight Great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by two sisters Joan Oberholzer and Darlene Gaston and a brother George Mowen.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 17 at 2:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. David G. Rawley officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg, Pa. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the American Kidney Foundation C/O the Waynesboro Dialysis Facility 27 Vista Dr. Waynesboro, Pa. 17268.
