Lloyd Oliver Bingaman, age 89 of 12068 Polktown Rd., PO Box 75, Zullinger, PA, died at 1:58 A.M. on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at his home. He had been declining in health for the past year and critically ill for the past three months.

Born September 9, 1919 in Antrim Twp., PA., he was the son of the late William Benjamin and Maggie Belle (Tice) Bingaman.

He and his wife Mary Lowella (Weikert) Bingaman were married September 29, 1945 in Waynesboro, PA.

In his earlier years Mr. Bingaman helped construct the tunnels on the Pennsylvania Turnpike and worked at the former Waynesboro Knitting Mill. He was the owner of the former Bingaman''s Auto Body & Salvage Yard of Zullinger, PA. He has been the owner of Bingaman''s Pleasant View Mobile Home Park and Sales in Zullinger since 1972. He also was a land developer.

He was a member of the Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15 of Waynesboro, PA and the National AARP. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and camping. He was a loving husband and father. Mr. Bingaman was a United States Army Air Corps Veteran serving for four years during World War II in Europe, Africa, Italy and France.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years are; two daughters, Alice Suzanne "Suzy" Martz of Martinsburg, WV and Amy Linette Cline of Zullinger, PA. Two sons, Perry Lloyd Bingaman of Chambersburg, PA and Jerrold Boyd Bingaman of Zullinger, PA. Two brothers, Wade Bingaman of Greencastle, PA and John Bingaman of State Line, PA. One sister, Vera Christophel of Greencastle, PA. Nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Beth Bingaman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle with Rev. Gayle L. Ruble Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Pleasant Hall, PA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 159 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to the Lutheran Home Care & Hospice, 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
