Lester E. “Bees” Cunningham, age 75 of McDowell Road Waynesboro, PA died at 10:35 P.M. Saturday, March 28, 2015 in his home.
Born July 24, 1939 in Greencastle, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence Earl and Anna Catherine (Mills) Cunningham.
He retired after 35 years of employment at Corning Glass Works of Greencastle. His interests included NASCAR Racing, he was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed doing gardening and landscaping.
Surviving family are four daughters April Barr and her husband Brian of Waynesboro, Karla Cunningham and her husband Marc Blagg of Greencastle, Robin Hotchkiss and her husband Michael and Kelly Rubeck, all of Chambersburg, one sister Dorothy Cunningham of Greencastle, seven grandchildren, John, Darla, Travis, Shannon, Evan, Jillian, Jade and four great-grandchildren, Shawn, Hunter, August and Landon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Paul Cunningham, Harry Cunningham and two infant sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 8 at 6:30 P.M at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Paul Stull officiating. There will be a visitation for family and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 6:30 P.M. Burial will be in the Montgomery Church Cemetery near Mercersburg at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Antietam Humane Society 8513 Lyons Rd. Waynesboro, PA 17268.
