Leopold "Leo" F. Ritacco, age 85 of 383 Catherine St. Greencastle, Pa. died at 4:50 A.M. Saturday, April 19, 2008 in his home. He had been in declining health since this past January.
Born April 2, 1923 in Italy, he was the son of the late Ciriaco and Maria (Teasa) Ritacco.
He retired in 1988 from Mack Truck of Hagerstown, Md. Leo was a member of the St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church of Greencastle and a life member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 of Greencastle.
He also was a member of the Rescue Hose Co. #1 of Greencastle, member of the U.A.W. Local 171 of Hagerstown and a member of the Mack Golden Bulldogs.
Leo was a graduate of Donora High School in Donora, Pa. and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Seabees.
He and his wife, Clara (Egidi) Ritacco were married on August 10, 1947 in Monessen, Pa.

Two daughters, Linda E. (Wife of Gregory L.) Miller and Eileen M (Wife of Eric C.) Strausner, both of Greencastle, Pa.

Grandchildren, Michelle E. (Wife of Cory) Hummer, Mark G. (Husband of Michelle) Miller, Erica M. Strausner, Evan J. Strausner, Ross G. Miller and Emily M. Strausner
Great-grandchildren, Zachary R. Miller, Cole P. Hummer, Jenna C. Miller, Zeth Bookheimer

He was preceded in death by sisters, Rose Artuso and Ann Lorenzi and two brothers Ralph Ritacco and Pete Ritacco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday April 23 at 10:30 A.M. from the St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church 385 S. Ridge Ave. Greencastle with Rev. Joseph L. Stahura officiating. Burial with military graveside honorsprovided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Tuesday evening from 6 - 9 P.M., where the rosary will be recited at 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church 385 S. Ridge Ave. , P.O. Box 218 Greencastle, Pa. 17225 or to the Rescue Hose Co. #1 842 South Washington St. Greencastle, Pa. 17225.
