Leonard L. "Ike" Kuhn Sr., age 77 of 3427 Williamson Rd. Greencastle, PA. died at 11:50 P.M. Monday July 4, 2011 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born November 2, 1933 in Shady Grove, PA, he was the son of the late John L. Sr. and Helen (Wolfe) Kuhn.
He retired from Grove Worldwide in 1997 after 32 years service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 -56 and attended Greencastle Area Schools. Leonard was a social member of the Greencastle V.F.W. Post #6319, post member of Greencastle American Legion Post #373, Gray Group member from Grove Worldwide and a member of A.A.R.P. He was avid NASCAR, Orioles, Pirates, Redskins fan, and loved animals and doing word find puzzles.
He and his wife, Betty L. (Bingaman) Kuhn were married May 6, 1954 in Hagerstown.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are two daughters Sharon L. "Sherry" and husband Jake Ramer of Chambersburg, Kimberley L. "Kim" and husband Rick Freshman of Greencastle, three sons, Leonard L. "Ikie" Jr. and wife Sue Kuhn of Williamson, Stefan L. and wife Kelly Kuhn of Waynesboro, Christopher L. "Chris" and wife Amy Kuhn of Greencastle, three sisters Blanche Daley, Miriam "Bill" Baker, Phoebe Rosenberry, all of Greencastle, one brother John L. "June" Kuhn Jr., Chambersburg, 12 grandchildren, B. Douglas Ramer, Bradley Freshman, Eric Kuhn, Erin Bennani, Ryan Freshman, Krista Freshman, Taru Murphy, Tasha Musselman, John Wesley Kuhn, Mitchell Gage Kuhn, Ethan Kuhn, Richmond Lee Kuhn, 7 great-grandchildren, Jalil Bennani, Brayden Stoner, Olivia Ramer, Kolsyn Freshman, Christian Musselman, Danica Murphy, Kara Ramer and god daughter Alycia McCammon. He was preceded in death by an infant brother William Kuhn and an infant great granddaughter McKenzie Freshman.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 7 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son F unreal Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Richard Mose officiating. Burial with military honors by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post # 1599 will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens Chambersburg.
