Lauren K. "Jack" Myers
Lauren K. "Jack" Myers, age 81 of Pensinger Rd. Greencastle, PA died at 4:30 A.M. Tuesday June 5, 2012 in ManorCare Health Services of Chambersburg. He had been in declining health the past year.
He was born November 24, 1930 in Hagerstown, MD, the son of the late George Cleveland and Maude Evelyn (Stickell) Myers.
He married Evangeline B. (Buckwalter) Myers on February 17, 1952.
Jack in his earlier years worked for Amos Baer, Hagerstown Moving and Storage, T.M. Zimmerman Moving and Storage of Chambersburg and retired after 25 years with Grove Worldwide of Shady Grove.
He attended the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church near Greencastle. Jack was a life member of the Rescue Hose Co. #1 of Greencastle where he also served on the ambulance squad and fire police. He also was a social member of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373 of Greencastle.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are one son William "Bill" Cleveland Myers, Greencastle and one grandson Michael A. Myers, Arlington, TX. He was the last of his immediate family and was preceded in death by a granddaughter Dawn Evangeline Myers in 2009 and by four brothers and four sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 16 at 11:00 A.M. from the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church 13343 Williamsport Pike Greencastle with Pastor Joe Martin and Michael Layton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service on Saturday. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in memory of Lauren K. Myers to Heartland Hospice 1200 Walnut Bottom Rd. Suite #302 Carlisle, PA 17015.
