Larry Ralph Zehr, age 64 of Hagerstown, Maryland died Friday evening December 19, 2014 in Hagerstown.
Born June 30, 1950 in Lowville, New York, he was the son of Ralph L. Zehr of Croghan, NY and the late Arlene Ida (Widrick) Zehr. He married Rosa A. (Strite) Zehr on May 21, 1977.
Larry was a self-employed logger. He was a member of the Conococheague Mennonite Church of Hagerstown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and in the springtime he enjoyed making maple syrup.
Surviving family in addition to his wife and father are two sons, Wendell L. Zehr and his wife Heidi, John E. Zehr and wife Janette, all of Millmont, PA; two daughters, Janet B. Eby and husband Arvin of Managua, Nicaragua, Julia M. Groff and husband Nelson of Kokomo, MS; fourteen grandchildren; three sisters, Lucy Roggie, Yvonne Bender, Anita Lyndaker, all of Castorland, NY and one brother Randall Zehr of Lowville, NY
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a niece Marrianne Roggie.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 24 at 10:00 AM from the Antrim Mennonite Church 9745 Antrim Church Rd. Greencastle with Bishops Lynn Martin and Melvin Burkholder officiating. Burial will be in the Conococheague Mennonite Church Cemetery Hagerstown. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 1- 3 PM and 6 -8 PM at the Conococheague Mennonite Church 12403 Huyett Ln. Hagerstown. The family requests the omission of flowers. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle, PA.
