Larry D. Cordell, age 54 of Burkett Road Greencastle, PA died unexpectedly Thursday July 11, 2013 at his home from injuries received from an accident while working on his truck.
Born January 30, 1959 in Chambersburg, PA he was the son of Donald R. Cordell of Greencastle and the late Hilda L. (Kiser) Cordell.
Larry was a self-employed independent trucker who enjoyed seeing the country while driving. He had attended over the years, the First United Methodist Church of Greencastle. Larry was a 1976 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and attended the Franklin County Vo-Tech School and Hagerstown Junior College.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and snow mobiles.
In addition to his father, surviving family are two daughters Tammi Desserrae Cordell of Lutz, Florida, Traci Cornwell and husband Chris of Williamsport, MD, one sister Sandra E. Domer and husband Denny of Chambersburg, one brother Brian R. Cordell and wife Andrea of Greencastle, a special friend Kathleen Konchalski of Greencastle, several nieces and nephews and his former wife Vicki Cordell of Clear Spring, MD.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 16 at 10:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Chris Renner officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his name to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter 5051 Letterkenny Road West Chambersburg, PA 17201.
