Kenneth I. Garling

Kenneth I. Garling, age 71,  a resident of the Falling Spring Nursing And Rehabilitation Center of Chambersburg and formerly of Greencastle and State Line, PA, died at 4:45 PM Sunday, October 15, 2017 in the nursing center. He had been in declining health the past several years.

Born December 7, 1945 in Antrim Twp. Franklin County, PA, he was the son of the late Kenneth L. and Marion L. (Martin) Garling.

Ken worked for over forty years for Anvil Products and then Beck Manufacturing of Greencastle.

He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle. Ken was a 1963 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid Eagles football fan and enjoyed attending Greencastle’s Old Home Week festivities.

Surviving family are one aunt, Norma Yeager of St. Thomas, PA and numerous cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Charlotte L. Garling in 2009.

Funeral services will be held on Friday October 20 at 11:00 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA with Rev. Martin H. Horn officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Evangelical Lutheran Church 130 North Washington St. Greencastle, PA 17225.
